We shot four models over two days and that same week I had three other shoots so by that fifth day shooting I was completely exhausted! Hayley photographed all of the native New Zealand insects herself at the Auckland University, thanks to Kelly Boothe for making that possible. I wanted the styling to reflect the textures of an insects shell but also included synthetic materials like metal and plastic to play on the contrast between nature and the way society is slowly contaminating everything with man-made waste.
